These are the photos from Brady & Solo's herding instinct test. They both turned on to sheep very quickly and had a wonderful time herding. It was really amazing and wonderful to see the boys doing the work they were bred for. I think this was the most fun they'd ever had!
The instructor believes that Brady has much more innate skill than Solo. By his nature Brady has more drive and is more biddable than Solo. Solo loved herding the sheep too, but for Solo it was just fun. Brady definitely wanted to keep the sheep together and really concentrated and worked hard. Both dogs have strong herding instincts, but the instructor believes Brady would be easier to train and that if just one were to get training it should be Brady. I had expected Solo to love herding. (We're searching for Solo's "passion.") Brady's reaction to herding was very unexpected and a joy to watch!
